Review: Pricey but well manufactured & simple to use - to extract toast. - Ridiculously expensive when compared with £12.00 for the Dualit 510 Lite Double Pack Sandwich Cages but unfortunately they don't fit the 499 model. bought two of the 499 cages on the same day; one from Selectric for £15.02 and one that was fulfilled by desertcart for £15.45. I paid the extra for the latter as it contributed to the £20 needed for free delivery of other items. The order from Selectric was delivered the next day, new, boxed with menu booklet enclosed. The desertcart fulfilled order was similarly new & boxed but I had to wait a couple of extra days for delivery (no excuse for the delay, as it wasn't combined in the same box as my other items). Re. the item itself - I have used it as a pure indulgence for easily extracting bread from the toaster without burning fingers or needing to use a knife (I don't eat toasted sandwiches so can't advise on its efficiency in that respect). I know you could probably buy a new toaster for the cost of the cage but it is very well manufactured, does the job I ask of it and will probably last the life of the Dualit toaster itself. It's excellent also for compressing and toasting thicker items such as bagels.

**Q: Does this work with other toaster brands?**
A: I bought this to use with my KitchenAid Pro Line toaster, since the KitchenAid sandwich cage accessory has been discontinued, and it fits just fine. The part that fits into the toaster slot is 4-7/8 in. long, 5 in. deep and 1-1/8 in. wide. The original KitchenAid product is slightly deeper -- about 5-1/2 in. -- so it fit just a little bit better, but this one works. I use it for toasting crumbly breakfast breads and smaller objects such as crumpets. I've never tried making a sandwich with it.

**Q: How wide is the part that goes in the toaster? Does not look like 1 3/4 inches from the pics. I am trying to see if it would fit in my Cuisinart.**
A: The part that fits into the toaster slot is 4-7/8 in. long, 5 in. deep and 1-1/8 in. wide.

**Q: Do you only get one cage, or is this a pack of two?**
A: I purchased two separately

**Q: Where is this Made?**
A: I really don't know.  The toaster is assembled in England, but distributed through various means.  Perhaps if you visit https://www.dualit.com/products/classic-toasters you can find a link to customer service who can answer this for you.  I really like the cage and use it to hold all sorts of odd shaped pastries, etc.

Ridiculously expensive when compared with £12.00 for the Dualit 510 Lite Double Pack Sandwich Cages but unfortunately they don't fit the 499 model. bought two of the 499 cages on the same day; one from Selectric for £15.02 and one that was fulfilled by Amazon for £15.45. I paid the extra for the latter as it contributed to the £20 needed for free delivery of other items. The order from Selectric was delivered the next day, new, boxed with menu booklet enclosed. The Amazon fulfilled order was similarly new & boxed but I had to wait a couple of extra days for delivery (no excuse for the delay, as it wasn't combined in the same box as my other items).
