For Those About To Rock [We Salute You] AC/DC FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK NEW CD EXPRESS UK POSTAGE

Review: Spellbound - This is seen as not quite as good as BIB, and that is true, but it comes so close that the arguments against seem defunct. There are a couple of tracks here that are not 'perfect' but there were a few on BIB as well. All in all it is another storming progression of the AC/DC sound and another fine addition to their can(n)on (if you'll pardon the pun). The title track takes a while to absorb as it's another slow start that leads to a crescendo chorus that rattles your teeth. Classic. 'Put the Finger on You' is one of those tracks I just don't enjoy from the band. It's ok but there's not much in the way of memorable hooks or tune. 'Let's get it Up' is much more fun. It's no classic but it's another of those fun, party tracks they can breath out. As id 'Inject the Venom'. Absolute stunning chorus and a nice hard-rocker. 'Snowballed' is the only other track that I find a bit boring. There seems to be no heart or 'oomph' (for want of a better expression). 'Evil Walks' is possibly one of my new favourite AC/DC tracks ever. So simple yet so effective. One of the best choruses they've done - and they've done a few! 'COD' is a great follow-up. Not as good but still worthy of high praise. 'Breaking the Rules' is another of my favourites. More of a slow-burner but what a ride. Anthemic. 'Night of the Long KNives' is another excellent track. Great chorus as well. As you can see the last half of the album is far stronger. But 'Spellbound' ends a little damply. It is a good song but just not as good as the 4 preceding it. As with the past 2 albums it is a rather subdued closer and is not half as good as 'Rock and Roll Aint Noise Pollution' or 'Night Prowler'. Overall a near perfect album.
Review: One of the good AC/DC albums - This was the follow up to back in black. I liked it back then and still do. It's good stuff. You have to marvel in the skill of the young brothers tbh. The band loses Bon Scott, a vocalist many believe to be the greatest hard rock singer of all time. Then, they produce these 2 albums for a vocalist with a complelty different style (Johnson is very much a rock singer, as Bon Scott sang in a more bluesy style). You can never replace Bon Scott, but my god, Brian Johnson does a fantastic job and the writing is beyond brilliant. Back in black and for those about to rock are both superb rock albums. Both would easily be included in my top 20 albums of all time. They are that good. You like hard rock ... you will love this album. You like blues rock then you will love this album and absolutely adore the earlier Bon Scott albums. Just a wonderful band
