    Perfect after replacements sent

*by C***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 September 2018*

*Edit I've increased my score to five stars. Messaged the seller and they were very polite and offered either a full refund or to send a replacement out. I asked for a replacement and it's 100% better. Charges fast and most importantly, keeps its charge for a good few hours of play. I've left my original review in case anyone else has the same issue. Thanks a lot to the brilliant seller for sorting this.Original review.Have recently resurrected the Wii so the kids can play (and so I can revisit the Mario Galaxy games :) ), so thought it would be a good idea to save money on batteries. They arrived promptly and I charged them for over the 16 hours recommended. Tried them yesterday and the low battery icon was flashing on screen after literally five minutes of play. Very disappointed so emailed the sellers who were very understanding and said they would send out new batteries, as the actual unit itself seems fine. So I left them on charge for pretty much another day, tried them again this morning and they have improved, played for an hour and only lost one bar of power on one remote. However, the other remote still lost two bars of power after about 20 minutes. They're obviously faulty, but when one of them has worked (after about 48 hours of charging), it works fine. Shame really. Hopefully I'll get the replacements and I can turn it into a five star review, but for now, i'm probably being generous with three. Plus points, they charge dock looks cool and when it does charge, you can't argue with the cost saved on buying batteries. Minus points,48 hours to get a full charge is not acceptable by anyone's standards. I'll hope they're just 'bedding in' so to speak and will definitely update my review if that the case and also when /if I get replacements.

Cheap and does the job, but your Wii may get confused

*by M***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 December 2011*

Like with most all charging docks and their battery packs you get mixed reviews, usualy at both ends of the spectrum, either people think they are fantastic or garbage, so I thought I would see for myself. The first thing to say is that these work perfectly fine, they charge and last a nice amount. However after charging all day and trying them out for the first time, the battery symbol shown on your Wii screen dropped from 4 to 3 with in about 20 minutes, but rest assured that this is not the case, after about another 30 minutes of playing I checked again and it was back up to 4, I think the Wii just has trouble reading the battery life when it comes to these so most people assume that they are rubbish, but they last for hours. As for the charger itself it is perfectly fine for the price, note these charge via USB but cannot charge whilst your Wii is in standby mode, but they will charge in anything else that is on, PC, PS3 etc... The blue light that comes on signifies that there is power to the dock and when motes are charging a red light will slowly flash, it does flash forever so you will not know when your motes are fully charged, but just use your instinct, you can't moan for under a fiver. Also the red and blue lights make it quite a festive display for this time of year.

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY, shame about the lack of instructions!

*by R***B on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2018*

Okay, so my first review on this product was that it was a waste of money and that it would be better spending more money on something that works.I may have been a little hasty with my previous review, I am not currently going to change the amount of stars until I have tested my theory completely! So initially, my sons were charging the controllers using a phone charger, this I didn't know, I assumed that they were using a power plug that came with the device. Now I have plugged the device into a USB port on my PC and I noticed that the lights stayed blue, I assume this is charged? Checking on the Wii U the controllers were fully charged, I am now going to let them use them tomorrow and then when they require charging I will again do so using the device plugged in to a USB port on my PC.I am assuming that there is not enough amps or something from a phone charger to make the base unit work correctly? I assume others that are complaining about these as well maybe doing the same thing? Phone chargers are designed to charge phones not every USB device!I will post my update tomorrow evening and I think I may end up changing from 1 star to 4 if my theory works, if I am correct the only reason it would not get the 5 stars is I would have had to put in time to test this rather than getting instructions advising that a phone charger will not be enough to power the base unit!Ok, sorry if anyone was actually awaiting my review, I know it's a few days later than advised.I have allowed my children to play with these and to test my theory. The Base unit docks never changes colour when the controllers are charging, before when they had it in the phone charger it may have went red? But now it has power from a PC port it stays blue all the time, whilst charging and once it has finished which is not a great feature. But each time they have charged them they have over 3 hours worth of charge, not sure on how long they were charging them for mind you? They could have had some instructions, not on how to put it together but at least to advise that a phone charger is not likely to be powerful enough to power the base unit and to ensure you use another USB port from some other device. All those things aside, these are great value for money they will save loads of wasted money on wasteful batteries. The base unit needs to be plugged in to a USB port which is NOT a phone charger! Thanks for reading.
