Perfect for art, writing drafting and more, our paper will surely spark imagination! A wide variety of formats and paper weights are available in both pads or in pouches and ideal for use with both wet and dry mediums. For the most discerning, Clairefontaine also offers an assortment of graphic and technical papers for precision work in ink, pen, pencils or markers. Dry Techniques Drawing is a universal language! This activity transcends centuries, generations, feeds our imagination and enhances personal growth. A dry technique is an artistic expression that can be done with varied tools such as pencils, chalks, charcoals and pastels. We offer a vast choice of papers that suits the full range of your creativity. Smooth paper is perfect for precise drawings, technical sketches, fine detail work and more. Papers with a light to heavy grain provide a textured surface that allows the artist to create subtle to dramatic shading when using pigment-rich materials such as pastels and charcoal. Wet Techniques The wet technique is mostly associated with watercolour, gouache and other mediums that artists frequently employ on both paper and canvas. There are two popular approaches to this technique: “Wet on Dry” and “Wet on Wet”. The first allows the artist to gradually layer wet colour over a dry surface creating a deep, rich luminosity and is perfect for fine, detailed work. “Wet on Wet” begins when wet mediums are applied to a wet surface. This enables various soft effects, subtle to dramatic shading and creates a highly transparent appearance to the pigments. As the correct paper is essential to these processes, ours have been designed to support both techniques and are highly regarded for their excellent water absorption and colour preservation. Made from 100% cotton and/or cellulose fibres, our large variety of wet technique papers are available in sheets or pads which are sturdily glued together to prevent buckling when used with mediums containing a high-water content. Boards and Mounting Supplies Boards are an essential tool for manual activities, modelling or presentations. The choice of a material depends on its use and on the specialty of the artist. The white foam boards made of polystyrene will seduce by its lightness while providing rigidity for various objects in 3D. The grey cardboard has an excellent value for money, is ideal for creations in volume and fully customizable with coloured paper. The real cellulose boards will also be suitable for framing. They can all be assembled with gummed Kraft or simply with waterproof and flexible metallic grey adhesive! Clairefontaine & The Environment Clairefontaine plays a role in protecting forests and maintains hundreds of hectares of forest in Vosges. Review: Exactly as expected. Very good quality. - These foam boards were suggested for a bag that I am making to use as a base. They are exactly as I had expected but come in various thicknesses. For me, I will probably be doubling up to give more reinforcement for the bag base but I am happy with what I received and will update once I have actually completed the bag. So far so good. Review: Great for architectural modelling - Have only just started but already I'm liking this form board for making a roughly 1:50 scale model of a two storey house. The model base at this scale is just under A4 size so it fits nicely and 3mm scales to 150mm (15cm) wall thickness which is just about right. The board is stiff - I worried that I might need 5mm rather than 3mm but even 3mm is "rigid" for this. My preferred glue is UHU POR which is "foam safe" and makes solid, sturdy bonds. ## Features - Clairefontaine Rhodia is the fine arts specialist par excellence. Very good quality. *by G***N on 11 August 2020* These foam boards were suggested for a bag that I am making to use as a base. They are exactly as I had expected but come in various thicknesses. For me, I will probably be doubling up to give more reinforcement for the bag base but I am happy with what I received and will update once I have actually completed the bag. So far so good. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for architectural modelling *by C***N on 1 July 2021* Have only just started but already I'm liking this form board for making a roughly 1:50 scale model of a two storey house. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent for mounting cross stitch *by A***T on 5 March 2021* This foam board is good and sturdy. I used it to mount a cross stitch by pinning into the sides and it worked brilliantly. The edges of the board were a little damaged, hence my four stars for the packaging; it is only shrink-wrapped and could possibly benefit from some cardboard around the corners to add more protection. This was not a problem for me because I was trimming the edges off anyway, but if you are needing a perfect A4 sheet then it might not quite be good enough. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/48017529-clairefontaine-ref-193667c-foam-board-pack-of-5-sheets-a3](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/48017529-clairefontaine-ref-193667c-foam-board-pack-of-5-sheets-a3) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
