Having the white face/background reflects the light more (I had the same watch with a black face and the light was nowhere near as good as with the white face), and I'm very happy with the watch. **Q: How long does the battery last** A: This watch is really excellent value all round. Reliable, stylish, with an excellent 'see in the dark' feature. The battery will last at least 18 months or longer. I have 2. The battery is also simple to replace yourself. **Q: Is there a quick way to move date on?** A: its very easy. whip out your knob once & rotate. don't double dip by whipping out your knob twice as this turns the hands rather than the date. **Q: Hi all! How scratch resistant is this watch? I want to buy it for my Dad who is a keen gardener so it needs to be sturdy. Thanks.** A: Without appearing to be flippant, but that depends upon his style of gardening. If he tends fruit bushes or roses then it'd have a different challenge to tending seeds in soft soils. It's a great watch for smaller wrists (smaller bezel diameter) and withstands an outdoor working life (as I have) and I really like the velcro strap, the resin case is tough and the perspex type 'glass' is pretty resistant to damage, but obviously not as resistant as glass. If you want REALLY TOUGH go for the dearer Timex Adventure with Indiglo range (have a screen light built in for use in poor light) which has a metal body and thick glass lens. The Timex batteries tend to last about 5 years from new I've found as I have several Timex watches. Either way he'll be chuffed with the gift, they're all really dependable. Tip.....read the CASING measurements, then take a ruler and draw a circle in cardboard or use a similar sized circular item (vitamin pot perhaps) to replicate the actual size on ones (or his) wrist. For my small wrist I prefer the range of 38mm - 42mm (casing size usually includes the 'bulge' where the 'winder' knob is (my 42mm Adventure becomes 45mm when including the bulge...for instance) Hope that helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great watch! Unlike most watches, the metallic base has a fabric underside, so instead of a cold metal feeling on your wrist, you have a soft feeling of fabric that leaves you barely noticing touch-wise that you have a watch on at all, which is great.Secondly, the watch is extremely accurate, easy to adjust, and does not lose time quickly at all.Thirdly, the watch not only looks nice, but feels durable, meaning that you can wear it in various places without worrying about damaging it. That is not to mean that it cannot be damaged, but rather that its appearance is such that it doesn't really matter if it suffers some scrapes here and there, for it has the look of an everyday, hardy watch anyway.It is lightweight, but not too light, and I can simply say that it is very comfortable to wear.There are additional features that are useful, such as the glow in the dark feature, as well as the date window. I find that the latter is highly accurate, the watch keeping the correct date regardless of what time of the day you adjusted it.My only criticism is that the watch's tick is slightly too loud for my ideal tastes, but that is only if you are wearing it in an otherwise silent room. So the day of the month will not be correct- I'll just ignore that feature.Otherwise I really like the feel of it on my wrist, the backlight when you press the thing is very nice and effective in dark. I like that it's small, light and not bulky.
