Needs a different gear in the tail shaft from the Cobra to be perfect. It's close enough for now without going through the extra effort. You'll be off about 10 mph. Some say not to use this in a 96-98 GT as the teeth will sheer off but it hasn't happened to me yet. ## Features - This gear helps ensure correct speed & mileage readings - Fits the following Mustangs: 1983-1989's with 4.10 ratio & T5 or T45 Transmission - Also fits 1990-1998 V8 Mustangs with T5 & T45 transmissions and the following ratios: 3.55, 3.73, 4.10 - Made of plastic and color coded white / cream for reference - Brand new! ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00H4E0KQY | | Best Sellers Rank | #363,772 in Automotive ( See Top 100 in Automotive ) #206 in Automotive Speedometers | | Brand | Yates Performance | | Brand Name | Yates Performance | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 95 Reviews | | Item Dimensions | 6 x 6 x 6 inches | | Item Weight | 17.87 g | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 6 x 6 x 6 inches | | Manufacturer | Yates Performance | | Material | Plastic | | Material Type | Plastic | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | E3ZZ-17271 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Yates Performance - **Material:** Plastic - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 6 x 6 x 6 inches - **Item Weight:** 0.63 Ounces - **Manufacturer:** Yates Performance ## Images ![1983-1998 Mustang 4.10 & 3.73 Ratio White 23 Tooth Speedometer Speedo Gear - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31MmTWgiNJL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Does it come with a black clip** A: No **Q: Where do I install this gear. I can't find anything on Internet on how to install it** A: It attaches at the end of your speedo cable that goes into the transmission **Q: Is this the stock gear ratio for speed sensor on 87 mustang with 5.0?** A: Short answer: No. Long answer: it depends, there were a few different rear gear ratios offered in mustangs so it's hard to say. Also your drive gear could have been replaced. Go here https://lmr.com/products/Mustang-Speedometer-Gear-Calculator and calculate the gear you need. **Q: Will this work on a 96 mustang gt with 4r70w/aode transmission with 3.73 gears?** A: I know it works for 93 T5 with 3.73. I thought yours used a electric speedo not mechanical one like old mustangs. Go to american muscle. It will let you know ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ . *by Z***H on July 13, 2020* Worked perfect for my 4.10 gear swap in my 89 foxbody ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works *by R***T on May 11, 2015* If you have a 96-98 Gt it'll get close but not perfect.
