I use it for writing down dreams in the middle of the night. I also appreciate the AAA battery it takes, as that's easier than dealing with button cells. It is nice that the ink cartridges are replaceable, and it includes a couple replacements, but you will need to buy more with time. They are the screw-in type. The paint on the pen isn't scratch resistant, and chips off easily. Also, the light itself has issues, blinking off occasionally, so I'll tap the pen to get it to light back up for me. These days, having run out of ink, I don't even use it as a pen, but rather as a red flashlight for writing at night.
