The leather pieces are stitched, in addition to the stylish brass riveting. What a heavy-duty finish it is. The leather piece that secures to the middle finger is held by elastic cord, and is adjustable through a metallic cord lock. The new tab is stiff, but release is buttery smooth. The prolonged use will soften up the leather and condition it. I might even speed up the process with leather conditioner cream. I am glad to find this product.
