It covers all the bases. Not too tall to step up on, tall enough to reach to reach the top of my tall kitchen cabinets, extremely sturdy with great traction for your feet and the floor. Was nice while it lasted. Definitely not rated for 400 lbs. I bought this for my Mother in law to use to get in and out of my truck during a road trip. It did work great for the duration of the trip about a week and then it cracked and now is unusable. So we got a few weeks out of it. Also the heaviest person the steps saw was me at a whopping 200 lbs, and yes i ensured to use it on even surface’s and it still cracked! But it did work great for what we were using it for. But still a 2 star due to not coming close to the standard it said it could handle.
