Review: Reliable, Mess-Free Marking Tool – A Must-Have! - I recently purchased the Sharpie Peel-Off China Marker Grease Pencils in white, and they’ve exceeded my expectations. The pigment is rich and opaque, making it ideal for marking on a variety of surfaces like glass, plastic, and metal. The peel-off string design is a game-changer—no sharpener needed, just pull and keep working. Each pencil is solidly built and comfortable to hold, and the box of 12 is perfect for both personal and professional use. Whether I’m labeling equipment or working on creative projects, these markers consistently deliver clean, visible lines. What I appreciate most is their versatility and ease of cleanup. The marks stay put when needed but wipe off easily from non-porous surfaces, which is perfect for temporary labeling. Compared to other grease pencils I’ve used, Sharpie’s quality stands out. The packaging was secure, and all pencils arrived in pristine condition. If you're looking for a dependable, no-fuss marking solution, this product is a fantastic value. I’ll definitely be repurchasing!
Review: great for drawing on newsprint - I've tried a couple other brands whose name I don't remember. I like to keep about 1.5 inches exposed and the others would often snap. These will bend a good bit before breaking. I don't have anything to say about other uses as I only use them for drawing on large newsprint paper. For that purpose, they're great for the price. They have the tonal range of charcoal without the mess. (I do get a bit on my finger tips. And then I spread it around to the surfaces I touch. But I grip it by the exposed medium most of the time. It wipes off most things easily, except paper and unfinished wood.) They're great for drawing on newsprint and other smooth papers in that you don't have to sharpen them or think much about maintaining a sharp tip if you just spin the pen around a bit as you draw. Which, if you have experience with pencils sharpened in the pretentious artist sort of way, is a thoughtless habit anyway. 12 for 10$ is less than a dollar a shot, so there's great value if you're putting in the miles. I don't do a ton of shading in my newsprint studies, but I do lay down a lot of lines, cross contours, squiggles, etc and I still get 10+ hours out of each sharpie before it's wore down to ~4" to be thrown into the nub pile. There is an occasional scratching impurity within the marker which you can get rid of by rubbing the bajeezus out of it on your paper or scraping off somehow. Some of them have 2 in them, some have 1, most have none. Nothing to complain about, IMO.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this product write on wax paper that has greasy food? Sometimes the oil leaks through, its destroying every marker I use to label them.**
A: Unfortunately the wax from the China Marker would wipe right off of the wax paper once applied. That is not one of our recommended surfaces for the product. We apologize for the inconvenience.

**Q: We use these where I work to redact confidential information, do these cover print well? I’ve bought some that were too see through.**
A: In general yes, they do cover print well. Having said that, it might be worth testing first. If print paper is a bit on the glossy side you can sometimes just wipe it off but it really depends on the paper. I have used them for years for covering up addresses on labels, letters, etc. and have had very few instances where they didn't work. Hope this helps.

**Q: Is the stated lengh of 4.87" correct? Seems like it should be about 8" like a standard pencil.**
A: It’s the standard 8 inch pencil length.

**Q: What is the difference between the regular version and the improved version (other than $40 in shipping)?**
A: Both options share the same Sharpie item number. We recommend directly contacting the retailer to confirm the difference between the two versions they offer.
