As I opened the package and took the first one out I was happily surprised to find it to be very well made, and to have an extremely strong cable. As I pulled the cable out I could feel very strong resistance on the cable making me feel that the return spring inside was a good quality. As I let the cable retract back in it would return with ease and a a very strong pull. The overall craftsmanship is excellent and ease of use is fantastic. You could use these to hang a very large hevy ring of keys off of or as I am using it as an ID badge holder. So far I am very impressed with this product.
