No charged plates to make O3. It is so much smaller and less expensive than my InvisiClean. I use both of them on lowest setting at night for a good night's sleep. It uses only 1 watt of electricity on lowest setting so it is extremely energy efficient. I have completely eliminated the headaches I used to get about once or twice a week. Especially on days with very dry air or poor air quality. I will not to back to sleeping without an air purifier. I'm sure I'm getting a lot of added health benefits.So basically, great product at a great price. I love it! It's a little louder than I would like but that's ok. I can live with that. I'm very happy I found this product. I came across it by reading reviews for another filter. So I'm paying it forward by taking the time to write this review. So I ordered one of these Avari. 600s "for her" since it didn't cost very much. We placed it on the night stand and after I figured out how to put it into Night Mode (hold the turbo button down for a few seconds) it lights out for all of us. It's been running 24/7 ever since and we've both been sleeping like babies, pretty much every night since it arrived, no more sniffling and sneezing, blowing noses at 2AM and tossing around.
