Review: More accurate than our JD hay tester - This is a little more involved to use than our JD tester (also made by Agratronix), but accuracy is worth it! Customer service is excellent! Review: Slow to register temperature and not adaptable - Temperature is very slow to register compared with temperature probe we use. Talked with Nicole in technical support: Asked for help finding the software on the website for the USB data transfer There are no updates available for this tester. It’s a brand new unit that just came out. Still on first version of software. It’s not on the website because it doesn’t exist. MH - On your scale, you have 5 settings (hay/halage, straw, hay silage, corn silage, alfalfa) we would like to create 3 new settings of our own 6-7-8 based on our product variances & densities. Answer: The unit was not designed to have anything other than the 5 programed scales. You can’t program anything on this product. The product we are testing has different densities and higher moistures. We don’t want to apply a different moisture offset to corn silage scale as we move from one density to the other. If we have our own 6-7-8, I would use the 6 scale for one product density, 7 scale for a different product density and 8 for the other. Right now, I have to use the corn silage for all our products and make adjustments for the different densities which isn’t efficient. I’d like to have my own 6-7-8 scale so as I move from one density to another I just select 6, 7 or 8 like others do moving from hay to straw or silage (the 5 scales). Answer - Again the unit is not programable for you to enter your own scales. You would need to select the one of the 5 scales we offer an make a moisture offset if needed. In summary, we cannot program this unit and are limited to the 5 pre-programed scales they have provided. She recommended using the scale that represents the closest to our product and use the moisture offset if needed. ## Features - AUTOMATIC DENSITY COMPENSATION: The new agricultural tester measures push force to determine whether it’s a high low density bale and then, the silage tester adjusts the moisture readings for more precision. - HEAVY-DUTY USE: The 20-inch stainless steel probe tester is relevant for dense bales without worry of long-term damage. The handle of the hay tester also has a rubber grip which provides easy push & pull of the probe. - LCD DISPLAY: The digital moisture meter has a bright, outdoor-friendly display which is backlit for nighttime use. Featuring multi-lingual support, the straw moisture tester can be used in multiple languages - English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. - CUSTOMIZABLE MODES: The electronic tester meter has separate modes for testing hay, straw bales and silage. Feel assured about getting accurate readings with changeable modes of this bale probe tester. - PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS: This hay tester can measure moisture content between 8% and 72% and a temperature range of 14° to 176° Fahrenheit. The portable tester also has a USB port to save readings and download firmware updates. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B074FGBRB3 | | Battery Cell Type | Alkaline | | Best Sellers Rank | #574,577 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #247 in Moisture Meters | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (13) | | Date First Available | July 31, 2017 | | Item Package Quantity | 1 | | Item Weight | 3.34 pounds | | Manufacturer | AgraTronix | | Material | Plastic | | Package Dimensions | 36.5 x 7.2 x 4.21 inches | | Part Number | 07105 | | Power Source | battery-powered | | Voltage | 9 volts | ## Images ![Agratronix Advanced Hay Straw And Silage Moisture Tester With Durable 20" Probe - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/412bP4QoBxL.jpg) ![Agratronix Advanced Hay Straw And Silage Moisture Tester With Durable 20" Probe - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/412L+3-HcFL.jpg) ![Agratronix Advanced Hay Straw And Silage Moisture Tester With Durable 20" Probe - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61oWX3yhumL.jpg) ![Agratronix Advanced Hay Straw And Silage Moisture Tester With Durable 20" Probe - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41R8oPnWxcL.jpg) ![Agratronix Advanced Hay Straw And Silage Moisture Tester With Durable 20" Probe - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51fZ6hMKq2L.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: does the USB port have the moistue data in real-time?** A: USB Data Transfer Measurement results stored in memory may be transferred to a personal computer using the USB port.
