I plug it in the car 12V DC or hotel rooms 240V AC. It will keep items frozen if you lower it down. It has a battery to keep it cooling for short periods 4 hours on low. Simple to operate. Has a light inside the cooler which is nice, a bottle opener, cutting board (small size plastic) but works well. There is a USB port on top to charge your phone or run a fan or light. Overall very happy with it.
