I grew up in woodlands in NY where jewel weed grows in the wild, and learned early in life that juice from the jewel weed plant applied to poison ivy rash stopped the itching immediately and dried up / got rid of the rash within 12-24 hours. Trascentual's soap does not do this - in fact it seems to have spread the rash to other body parts and did not stop the itch. Jewel weed is listed as the soap's 2nd to last ingredient, indicating there is less of it compared to other ingredients. The lotion does help stop the itch, but only for about an hour, so it needs repeat applications, and rubbing the lotion in repeatedly can again spread the rash. I did not have open Poison ivy rash when I applied the lotion, but it to seems to have made my rash more widespread too.The lotion's ingredients list Jewel weed as the second most abundant ingredient, but whereas the juice from the jewel weed stem dries out a poison ivy rash, this lotion contains moisturizers that keeps the skin moist and doesn't help the rash to dry out and disappear, the way actual jewel weed does.So these products in their present formulations are pretty much a complete waste of money.
