The brim isn't thick and still like the newer OCP and ACU stuff. It's thin (not as thin but very close) like the old BDU patrol cap. I added a picture side by side with my issued patrol cap that my dog decided was a toy since it's extremely dirty and smells like trash (therefore clearly something that belongs in his mouth).It's a perfectly good replacement unless the brim is a deal breaker or you live near a store that sells the real thing.
