Both sides look and feel identical.** A: one side have a gel liner. **Q: I can’t tell the difference between the top part that has the gel and the bottom side of the pillow, how do I tell?** A: Unfortunately this is the same thing I have been wondering. But it does seem that the side that has the gel layer also is thicker you can see and feel the difference. But this is pretty ridiculous that they don’t have something identifying one side from the other.
