AWG is AMERICAN WIRE GAUGE **Q: Will this crimp 6AWG wire?** A: The largest ferrule in the kit fits 8 AWG. I’m sure it would be too small for 6 AWG wire. The crimping tool itself “might” work on a 6 AWG ferrule. I don’t know about that. **Q: Will 6 AWG fit in the size 7 terminal?** A: Depends. try it and see. If not you can trim a few strands of the wire to get it to fit, but keep in mind you are then slightly de-rating the connection to operate slightly less efficiently (but not enough to matter much in most cases). **Q: Can this tool do bigger ferrules?** A: The max they will do I think is 7awg, or 8awg for the average American since 7awg is next to impossible to find.
