Closys is sulfate based compound free and therefore is non-irritating. My gums were red and irritated after using Sensodyne for extended periods of time. A tube of Closys is 7 oz. vs. 3.4 oz for Sensodyne; you get twice as much product per tube of Closys vs. Sensodyne. Closys rebuilds enamel and protects against cavities using fluoride same as Sensodyne. Sensodyne protects against sensitivity however, I didn't have any issues with tooth sensitivity so this benefit wasn't important to me. UPDATE Note - when I took the Closys tube of toothpaste with me on a recent plane trip, TSA CONFISCATED MY CLOSYS TOOTHPASTE! TSA said it can't be over 3.4 oz. So don't make the same mistake I did and put it in your carry-on bag.
