Review: Excellent Product - I ordered this for both my family and I and will continue to buy it. All of the other brands on the market (that I have found) are NOT fermented. This fermented brand of CLO has not been heated in the manufacturing process as it is made the way it has been done in traditional civilizations for hundreds/thousands of years. (Check out what the Weston Price Foundation says about fermented CLO as that is how I learned about it) Other CLO's have been heated, destroying many of the life-giving properties in the process. I wish the other reviewer (who had gotten diarrhea from it and said they were switching back to Carlson's brand) would have continued using it because I believe the diarrhea would have stopped within a few days. I had the same experience when I first used fermented CLO, but it only lasted about 3 days. After that, I never had it again. I am guessing that the diarrhea was simply the result of the fermented CLO having a cleansing effect on the body because fermented CLO is MUCH different from regular CLO and is so much better nutritionally. Once I found out about the heat process involved with regular CLO's (including Carlson's brand as their CLO is not fermented) I felt it was a waste of money to ever buy regular CLO again, no matter the brand. Also, the orange flavor really isn't that bad at all. The no-flavor kind is the worst, but even my 13 year old daughter took that well. I mean, she didn't like it, but it's not like you have to chew it, or eat it, as that would be REALLY nasty. It is a capsule, so when you throw it in your mouth you get a whiff and slight taste of it in the split second before washing it down. But if my picky daughter (who gets grossed out pretty easily) can do it, anyone can do it. Make sure you also take butter oil capsules with it. I have read, and been told, that you need both simultaneously to get the benefit. I did not know this when I first started taking it, so I (supposedly) wasted all of my doses for a while. Now I take this along with the butter oil. If anyone is still confused, just go online and google the information...find the answers for yourself if that helps. :)
Review: Think For Yourself! This Is Not The Nasty-Tasting Product Some People Are Trying To Convince You It Is. - My doctor recommended that I use this product. When I looked for it in my local health food store I got this song and dance about how they stopped carrying it because it tastes so nasty no one will buy it. Knowing that the emulsified version of a fish oil usually is more palatable, I asked about the emulsified version. I got another song and dance about how it tastes even worse than the oil. Then I checked desertcart reviews only to find many negative reviews about the taste. I ordered it anyway because my doctor recommended it, especially after I called him back to ask him about it, and he said he takes it, and it doesn't taste bad to him. Now that I am taking it, I can't see where it tastes any worse than any other fish oil capsule or liquid. In fact, the fish flavor is quite mild. There is no hint of rancidity, which is what I think gives some fish oil products their bad taste. It sounds to me like someone is trying to eliminate the competition by dissing this product. So often resellers push whatever they get the best percentage of profit from. Could this be the problem? I can tell you that the credibility of my local health food store has been in question ever since I bought this product from desertcart and tried it for myself. I had always depended on them for good advice on products, but now I'm not so sure I will get it. If I thought it was terrible I would not have re-ordered, and I intend to keep on re-ordering because as far as I'm concerned the criticism of this product's taste is unfounded. One thing I always keep in mind about fish oil products is that if they are utterly devoid of a fish taste or smell, there probably isn't any fish oil in them. One other thing about fish oil. My chiropractor recommends it to people with acne. One of his patients that I know had a remarkable clearing of his skin just from taking the cheapest kind of fish oil from the local grocery store. I think he took 3 capsules a day. My former chiropractor in another city told me that his mother received remarkable relief from arthritis pain from taking 1 or more tablespoons of emulsified cod liver oil a day which she made up herself my adding cod liver oil to milk. As I recall, some years back there was quite a bit of advertising of the remarkable relief from arthritis some professional golfers got from taking fish oil. At that time I was living in yet another city, and I went to my local health food store and asked about it. The owner told me that the average person can't afford to take the amount they took to get the results they got. So you hear all these stories. My comment is still the same as the heading of this review: Find Out For Yourself What Works and What Doesn't.
