Review: Reliable Go-To ASA Filament for Functional Prints - This has become one of my regular ASA filaments for functional prints. I have moved away from PLA and PETG entirely at this point. Swapping filaments between projects is more hassle than it is worth, and the non-engineering filaments tend to get brittle and unreliable after just a few months sitting on the shelf. ASA holds up over time and prints I made months ago still look and perform like the day they came off the bed. Dimensional accuracy on this filament has been consistent. The advertised tolerance feels accurate based on the parts I have printed, and dimensions come out true to the model without needing to compensate in the slicer. The spool itself is wound cleanly with no tangles or weird behavior during long prints. Print quality has been solid across a range of settings. Layer adhesion is strong, the surface finish is clean, and the black color is a true black rather than a washed out gray. UV resistance is the main reason to reach for ASA in the first place, and parts I have placed outdoors have held up well without the yellowing or surface degradation you get with cheaper outdoor filaments. Review: Can't go wrong with Flash Forge when on a budget. - I'm fairly new to 3D printing but I did my research and found that this brand was considered middle of the road for quality and price. All my prints have come out well using this brand and I have no complaints. The flow and flexibility are great. **Q: What is the exact width and diameter of the asa spools?? thank you.**
A: The flashforge spool is 200 mm in diameter, the drum diameter is 68 mm and the inner width (working area) is 58 mm.  I'm sure it's the same for all materials.

**Q: I will have this running while I sleep and see the description says doesn’t produce fumes but I thought this kind of plastic did produce some.**
A: I also sleep in the same room as my printer (ender 3) and while there is a smell it is barely noticeable unless you are really close to it.

**Q: Is the flexy pla supposed to be limp off the spool? I just opened this spool got a simi decent print from it then it wouldn't feed,**
A: Tpu and flexible pla is limp, like a rubber band, and requires MUCH different settings than pla or petg.

**Q: is this is electrically conductive with 20% Metal Powder Filled?**
A: I doubt it. It’s metal colored. I would not trust PLA with electricity regardless, it has such a low melting point it seems that would be a fire hazard if it got warm.

I'm fairly new to 3D printing but I did my research and found that this brand was considered middle of the road for quality and price. All my prints have come out well using this brand and I have no complaints. The flow and flexibility are great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My favorite ASA filament.

Picked it up on a whim on sale, needing to do some outdoor ready prints. It took me a little to get it dialed in, but it was printing pretty well out of the box with default Bambu Labs ASA settings. I eventually calibrated it an enjoy a 29mm^3/s max flow rate in my stock 0.4 nozzle which allows for some blazing print speeds. It became my default ABS/ASA choice and I've gone through several rolls. It off-gasses like other ASA, so have ventilation and/or carbon filters. It also can warp, but not quite as much as ABS. I find high aspect ratio parts, or parts with curved, filleted, or relieved edges can benefit from brims, although most parts can get by with simple mouse ears at corners which take less post processing. It works well with salt remelting (the surface finish will be much different than stock, very matte and much lighter) and acetone smoothing.
