It was stuck on there and didn't want to come off. I had to spend quite some time getting all the residue left behind. At that moment I was regretting buying so many because I couldn't possibly spend that mu h time removing each one (I got bigger shelves so I was removing the current ones and putting the new shelves in a different corner). The second one I removed, I ditched the hair dryer. I was so frustrated that I thought there has to be a better way. I had a 75 cent plastic putty scraper from Walmart. They have various sizes but I had the 1 inch one already. (Note: if you done have a putty scraper, just use a credit card.) I sprayed Goo Gone at the top of the second hook, used the putty scraper to get into a corner, put Goo Gone in that corner ...and did that for only a MINUTE AND A HALF, and the whole thing was off. Goo Gone, Putty Scraper, Goo Gone, Putty Scraper, Goo Gone, Putty Scraper. Now I was mad that I didn't think about that sooner. Ditch the removal instructions it came with and use this method. It was so much faster I couldn't believe it - the kicker is that it pulled up the sticky goo with the putty scraper so I had zero residue. I looked very carefully at the photo in question and took note that she was indeed hanging as her posterior made absolutely no contact with the floor. BUT, then I noticed something even more strange, due to the effect of gravity upon another part of her body I became aware that the photo had been turned 90 degrees to the right. I promptly corrected this by turning my phone 90 degrees to the left, now the young lady is standing up. Or rather she is leaning back a bit, still on her feet though. I am certain that she is still pulling well over 13 pounds on that little hook though. I guess this company is very proud of their product, adding a girl in a swimsuit seemed right to them I suppose. Silly boyos. **Q: how do you remove them?** A: There are instructions in the box that have something to do with a hair dryer heating it up. Won’t be reusable afterwards tho **Q: Can I put on ceiling for a hanging plant?** A: I would say that would be iffy. If the ceiling is painted then this hook is glued to paint which is not strong and could tear off. The hook is as strong as what it is well adhered to. I found sticking this on my surround shower that these were hooks were stuck on solidly but do no release easily. I used a knife to try to work the glue off and I scratched / damaged the surface of the shower surround. It was not in shape to reuse either. So they work very well when they are adhered to something that won't simply tear away. **Q: Are the hooks curved deep enough to allow for hanging something from a ceiling? Sorry I'm blind and cannot see the pictures.** A: It depends on what you're hanging. These would definitely work for something with a thin string or loop (re: mosquito netting and string lights), however if it's something with a thicker strap, like the hanging mesh organizer I bought them for, no.
