Unlike inflatable balloons or pillows, it won't puncture, deflate, or lose its seal over time. No re-inflating, no surprises. Rated for 10+ years of reuse, this chimney plug is built to deliver reliable performance season after season - Measure Your Flue for a Perfect Fit: This 18"x18" wool pad pressure-fits into 16"x16" or smaller square or rectangle chimney flue tiles. The extra inch on each side is what creates the firm seal. To confirm fit, measure the inside dimensions of your flue tile opening just above the firebox before ordering. If your opening is slightly smaller, the Flueblocker trims easily with scissors to fit around hardware or irregular edges. Check your chimney flue dimensions before purchasing - Stops Drafts, Odors, Noise, and Smells: The dense wool pad creates a reliable seal that significantly reduces cold drafts pouring down an unused chimney and dampens outside noise coming through the flue. In summer, it blocks the stale, musty chimney odors that humidity pushes into living rooms. Ideal for winter heating season, humid summer months, or any time your fireplace sits unused - Tool-Free Install in Seconds: Simply push the Flueblocker into the flue just above the firebox. It works with or without an existing damper, whether yours is damaged, missing, or just leaky. When you're ready to use the fireplace, pull it out in seconds and reinstall it just as fast when the fire is out. Handle extenders are available for high out of reach installs. Perfect for homeowners, property managers, or hearth professionals who want a no-fuss chimney block off cap that actually stays put - Safety First, Savings All Season: The Flueblocker cannot be used with active vented gas log sets; remove or disable gas logs before installing, and always remove it before lighting any fire. By keeping warm indoor air inside and cold drafts out, it can pay for itself in one heating season. Made from naturally renewable Herdwick wool, shorn annually and regrown, it's a durable, responsible choice for long-term chimney sealing ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0B342K3WG | | Best Sellers Rank | #612,256 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #412 in Fireplace Replacement Parts | | Brand Name | Flueblocker | | Color | Gray | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (12) | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00852586007313 | | Item Dimensions W x H | 18"W x 1"H | | Item Weight | 1.4 pounds | | Manufacturer | Chimney Sheep | | Manufacturer Part Number | FB16X16SQ | | Material Type | Wool | | Model Number | FB16X16SQ | | Number of Items | 1 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Flueblocker - **Color:** Gray - **Item Weight:** 1.4 pounds - **Material:** Wool - **Product Dimensions:** 18"W x 1"H ## Images ![Flueblocker for a 16"x16" Chimney - Draft Stopper Wool Fireplace Plug - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91sBbOzQuQL.jpg) ![Flueblocker for a 16"x16" Chimney - Draft Stopper Wool Fireplace Plug - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51OsM4Js+3L.jpg) ![Flueblocker for a 16"x16" Chimney - Draft Stopper Wool Fireplace Plug - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51s3xBlvpPL.jpg) ![Flueblocker for a 16"x16" Chimney - Draft Stopper Wool Fireplace Plug - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51G7XO4Y8NL.jpg) ![Flueblocker for a 16"x16" Chimney - Draft Stopper Wool Fireplace Plug - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51GQExiEOxL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: How do I determine the correct size for my fireplace flue?** A: Measure your flue's interior and choose a Flueblocker the same size or slightly larger. The wool pad pressure-fits and can be trimmed with scissors. Use the sizing guide to match your flue shape—round, square, or rectangular. **Q: How difficult is installation? Do I need any special tools or supports?** A: Choose an install spot you can reach by hand. Measure with a tape or ruler. A narrow area above the firebox is ideal. For higher spots, use 6” handle extenders to place the wool pad securely. **Q: Will the product completely block cold drafts, odors, and heat loss?** A: When fitted correctly, the FlueBlocker stops heating/cooling loss, drafts and odors from a dormant chimney. To eliminate odor, make sure you vacuum out all the ash from the firebox and seal any ash chute or outside intake attached to the firebox. **Q: Which is right for my situation – a FlueBlocker or a Chimney Balloon?** A: The Flueblocker is a durable, reusable chimney plug that handles moisture and is ideal for long-term use. The Chimney Balloon offers a tight seal and a breakaway feature for safety if a fire is lit accidentally. **Q: How durable is the material? Is it worth the price?** A: Chimney is harsh, moist, acidic environments. The Flueblocker uses coarse ionized Herdwick wool and durable resin hardware to seal air, wick moisture and resist odors. Chimney Balloons use a heat-reactive laminate to withstand chimney air conditions. ## Frequently Bought Together - Flueblocker for 16"X16" Square Chimney Flue - Chimney Sheep Fireplace Draft Stopper Replacement Damper Fireplace Plug - Better Than Inflatable Pillow or Balloon - Save Energy Block Odor & Debris - Flueblocker - 6" Extension Rod for Square Handle --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/444783222-flueblocker-for-a-16x16-chimney-draft-stopper-wool-fireplace-plug](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/444783222-flueblocker-for-a-16x16-chimney-draft-stopper-wool-fireplace-plug) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
