Wonderful!
I love it! It is an absolute BARGAIN for the price and is far better than my Shark that cost over double.Could not believe how much it picked up on its first outing....from that point on I was totally sold on it.The long cord enables me to hoover the whole house from one plug point and I don't find it too heavy at all. The large attachment is amazing on my sofa.Cannot go wrong for £80.

Amazing Hoover
Incredible hoover....easy assembly...just slide the handle in till it clicks and its done. There is a slider on the front of the hoover for strength of suction. I thought I would slide it to the highest suction...I literally couldn't push the hoover, I ended up having to slide it right down in order to use the hoover. I have carpet upstairs and hard floors downstairs with rugs. I plugged it in downstairs as I wanted to see how far I could take the hoover without having to plug it in again. Well I managed to do the whole upstairs without having to do that. I had literally hoovered the upstairs of the house two days before this hoover came....OMG !!! I am ashamed to say it...but my carpets were full of dirt...I couldn't believe the dust and dirt that was collecting in the see-through container at the front of the hoover. By the time I had done the upstairs, I had to empty it 5 times. The hoover comes with several tools and a super long separate hose, which meant I could leave the hoover downstairs while hoovering the whole stairs with ease and no loss of suction. So...my opinion on this hoover is definitely a 5* for price, ease of use, for all of it. Well done VAX for making my life easier and my house cleaner.

Most Efficient Vacuum I've Bought, Just a Shame It Seems To Break Every Three Years!
The media could not be loaded. We have bought the Vax Air Stretch Upright Vacuum Cleaner for our house many times and although the vacuum does give up on us three years down the line we still keep coming back as it's by far the best vacuum we have had. Of course, I would prefer it lasted many many more years but we always end up with the hair displacing the bar at the front of the vacuum. For this reason and three vacuums later we have made it our aim to remove the hair from the bar after each use in hopes that in three years time that the vacuum will still be working well and not give up on us again! The vacuum is very efficient at cleaning the carpets and has a strong suction which picks up everything on the floor easily and when I say everything, I mean everything! It takes a bit of getting used to as if (like my bedroom) the carpet hasn't been fitted, it will try to suck up the carpet. If there's newspaper on the floor it's as if the hoover sees it a mile away and it will be sucked up the hoover before you get the chance to save the paper. I like that it has such a good suction though as having used other vacuums in the past there is nothing more annoying than a hoover that you have to go over areas multiple times just to get the dirt off the floor. The vacuum is quite hard to push when you first use the vacuum as that is how strong the suction is but otherwise it's a very easy vacuum to use and manoeuvre. I love how the wire is 13m long as it means I can hoover the whole of each floor of the house without having to unplug the vacuum which is quite impressive as we don't have a small house. The long hose is perfect for cleaning the stairs and reaching any cobwebs that might be around. I don't find the hose accessory as good as the actual hoover with the bar on itself but it still works pretty good and does the job which is all that matters. It is easy to empty the vacuum and clean the filter which we do every now and then to keep the vacuum clean. Usually this is prompted by when the vacuum starts to get really smelly but thankfully once it's cleaned (which doesn't take long at all) then the smell goes away again.I am very pleased with this vacuum and think it is fantastic quality for the price. I have only given it four stars because of this being the third vacuum of its kind in the last ten years but I'd still buy it again because of its affordability and efficiency. The only thing that could make this vacuum better is if there was a anti hair wrap feature as this seems to be our biggest vacuuming issue.

After one month of use
We bought this Vax model after comparing it with the near equivalent Shark at just under £300 and decided that, at around a third of the price, we would risk going for the Vax.Here is what I/we think after about a month of use.First point, I have given it 5 stars, but have some reservations regarding potential longevity. The reason for this is because the motor gets very hot very quickly. Our 20 plus year old Bissell never got overly hot and worked well for over two decades (The Dyson that we had before that was a joke, hence we did not consider another Dyson.)Second point, we have a mix of very deep thick pile (expensive) carpets in the living room, dining room and hall, cheaper carpets in the bedrooms and tiles in bathrooms, kitchen and utility room, so the Vax get a shot at three very different surfaces.Third point, I (a man) do the vacuuming in our house because I like things being done my way and I am a bit OCD with cleaning. I take 45 mins to an hour using the vacuum and clean the machine completely after each use.So, to summarise the Vax performance:It has good suction. You adjust suction strength with a slide that I have to open 15mm or so on the thick carpets. Failing to do this, stops the brush spinning and makes the Vax hard to move. I adjust this setting on the other carpets and tiled floor areas (i.e. close it). The suction is very good and it picks up more debris than I expected. The cable length is vast. We live in a bungalow and if it is plugged in at a socket in the hall it will reach the entire house. The build quality seems good. Thick plastics, but time and use will be the real testers. The attachments are good and pretty much the same as those on the Shark, however, you cannot detach the motor/dust collection unit from the base like you can on a shark. Personally, I do not see this as any great disadvantage, however we do not have stairs!Cleaning and maintenance: I watched a great youtube video by a guy who tests vacuums (search for this or a similar model and you will find him) – he gets very enthusiastic and really rated the Vax. What he really liked was the fact that you can take it to pieces very quickly and clean everything (he does this in the video). Since keeping the thing clean prolongs life and suction, this was an important factor in the buying decision. All told very impressed, especially for the price. I just hope that it can last like the Bissell. If it does not, I will try to come back and alter the review.
