The default OS and software is adequate, however if you flash it with newer custom OS, this becomes a high class machine. Easy to do and easy to follow instructions on the web. In my case, I used SlimboxTV rom and couldn't be happier. Please note if you plan to flash it, the reset button is hidden inside the AV out. These are the things I like:1. Fast and responsive CPU.2. Adequate storage.3. Adequate Ram4. 2 USB input, one being USB 3.5. Port to add microSD card.6. Appealing design and box.7. Dolby Sound and passthrough through HDMI (have not tried the SPIDF port).9. Stunning graphics.10. Gigabit network connector - provided higher level internet connection11. Fast Wi-Fi network connection.Dislike:1. Remote - the remote is only line of sight and feels cheap.2.
