## Description

Oren CAT6A Ethernet Cable - 50m, 23 AWG Pure Copper Wire - 500 MHz Bandwidth, U/FTP, 10GbE High Speed : desertcart.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Review: Good quality - The cable looks build with quality. The first thing I noticed is the thickness, from cat5e utp to cat6a FTP is kind a bit difference but was fine for me. I feel even for the wires a bit resistance when I done the terminations indicating they are solid ones. I managed to terminate a home job between main router to another router in another room as AP with success and everything work perfect without to have any issues with the cable. The cable is a bit rigid but is a cat6a FTP and I was explaining it. Aluminium foil for wire insulation is solid as well so here is why is a bit rigid too. Another thing I noticed was the cable colour, it is light blue, I was expecting to be a bit more dark, is kind of bumping into the eyes, my girlfriend didn't really liked it. Great cable with few minuses but definitely I will buy again if I would need.
Review: Quality cable - I was impressed with the quality of this cable. Tested at 1gbps and it seems to do the trick - don’t currently have the equipment for 1gbps+ plus wanted to have the scalability of this for the future and I reckon we’ll be good here. There’s quite a few comments about identifying the different strands. However the individual pairs are wrapped up nicely in foil and are paired up anyway and will need to be terminated together in a keystone so this is not something I have struggled with but can see why this would be a pain if you’re trying to terminate individual cables.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the approx diameter of the cable? i'm hole planning ...**
A: In the description it states-outer Sheath of 7.50 mm ± 0.20
In the manufacturers description the same is repeated.

Need to read the description.

**Q: Can you use this with push through RJ45 connectors?**
A: Yes

**Q: I was recomended to purchase cat6a for new network can the drain / ground wire just be connected at one end as the router socket / ip cameras plastic**
A: Firstly, use CAT6a plugs at both ends. The drain wire is earthed at the switch. If it does not earth the camera, this is not a huge disadvantage, but it all depends on the length of the cable and if it passes close to any sources of interference such as electrical wiring. Nothing is perfect and you will have to experiment.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality cable
*by M***X on 13 June 2023*

I was impressed with the quality of this cable. Tested at 1gbps and it seems to do the trick - don’t currently have the equipment for 1gbps+ plus wanted to have the scalability of this for the future and I reckon we’ll be good here. There’s quite a few comments about identifying the different strands. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The white strands are not marked but it's a high quality cable
*by G***K on 7 March 2026*

The cable is good, it's easy to crimp and is relatively flexible. The performance is great and the cable is able to sustain 10gbp connection reliably. My only complaint is that the white cables are not identified with the customary color stripe so they all look the same. It's not hard to tell where they come from since each pair is wrapped in shielding but adding a stripe is definitely something that the manufacturer should seriously consider. Also contrary to some comments this is not a non-compliant cable. Testing the cables is a must but that's always the case even when you can visually inspect them. Oh and maybe Oren can consider offering colour choices for the outside sleeving. I can think of a few cases where blue is a problem.
