It was making a horn like noise in idle. The old diaphragm was not torn but it was still going bad. After replacing with this one, no more noise. You do have to make sure the edges go in correctly into the valve and not overlap or you will get a leak and a lean code (that happened to me on the first try). I bought two, so the 2nd try, I found my mistake and was able to install correctly. Also, you need to be careful not to crack the tabs on the valve cover. The tabs on the plastic round cover are sacrificial, so those you can break. But if you break the tabs on the valve cover, you'll have to replace the entire valve cover, which is a real pain! Get a small flathead and work carefully around those tabs.
