I bought it for cutting roots while metal detecting and bottle digging. I’ve used it to saw through a 4 inch tree laying in my path with minimum effort. It is a great buy and well worth the money. Only downfall is the blade is thin and is prone to bending and possibly snapping. Just be careful with it and you should be fine. That is not what this is at all. This saw has a locking mechanism on the back side of the handle. The lock keeps the blade closed or opened until depressed. The tool made short work of several 3 inch limbs and worked well on a smaller tree approximately 5" in diameter. Overall I am very happy with the tool. I gave this 4 stars only because the rubber on the lock mechanism had come unglued and I had to redo the glue.
