## Description

This wire splice kit comes with 4 x butt connectors and 4 x 3M clear dual wall heat shrink tubings that are suitable for connecting #10 #12 or #14 pump wires. The tubing used in these kits was developed especially for groundwater applications. The inner wall of a special thermoplastic adhesive melts and flows when heat is applied. The tubing rapidly shrinks to a skin-tight fit, forcing the melted adhesive to flow and cover the substrate. Upon cooling the adhesive solidifies, forming a permanent flexible, waterproof barrier. The clear tubing allows the additional advantage of seeing inside the splice. Ideally using for splicing a submersible deep well water pump and other waterproof applications. Instructions come with the kit. Made in the USA

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can the connectors be soldered for a better connection vice the crimping?**
A: As a retired electrical engineer for stranded wiring of this gauge properly crimped splices are better than solder.  For solid couch or wire soldering is more desirable.   I could only recommend using this kit with stranded conductors secured by using a proper crimp tool.

**Q: Can this safely be used for a pool light?**
A: I used it for a 120 volt moter and 12 volt light splices on a fountain pump where the splices are always submerged in a lake and have had no problems.

**Q: Can this be used to repair a buried 120v line (12 or 14 ga)?  A trencher cut the line to my gate.**
A: Yes it is great for any buried line and it is water proof

**Q: Has anyone used a hair dryer to shrink these tubes? I don't have a heat gun, not sure I want to use a lighter (lacks direction control).**
A: A hair dryer does not have enough heat to safely seal the joint.  A propane igniter may be carefully used.  Harbor Freight has a heat gun that works well for about 16.00.
