Because the main picture shows 2, as if you're getting 2. I knew it was not 2 before buying. But that was strike one of them being misleading and should have been my first red flag that they have poor customer service. But I read everything and understood it was only 1, so I ordered 2. Both me and my BF just started working from home, we both have two monitors with computers that only have one port. We wanted to use this so that we could utilize both of our monitors at the same time. Have an email up on the left screen while we have a word doc on the right, for example. That's not what this thing does at all. It will ONLY duplicate a display. When plugged in, in your display settings, it will still only show one screen, you cannot detect a second one and change it to extend, there is no second one. This is meant for a store or restaurant that want to display the same ads all over their building at the same time synced to the same source.
