Review: K&S Precision Metals — Great For Any Project! - This is a one piece package of K&S Precision Metals 8244 Brass Strip, 0.032" Thick x 2" Wide x 12" Long. This thin brass strip is individually wrapped for protection. K&S offers many types of metal pieces in various sizes, lengths and forms. All K&S metals are perfect for craft making, model building, DIY and more. I purchased this particular brass strip because I had a need for a custom shim. I had purchased a cycle attachment for my exercise equipment. It was when I was assembling this cycle attachment that I noticed that the way the legs bolt in to the housing of the cycle piece, it would be very wobbly while in use. To fix this, I made a shim to fit between the leg and the frame up inside of the housing. Fortunately, I was able to determine the exact thickness of sheet metal I needed — I used a dial Caliper to measure this area with. Remarkably after figuring out my dimensions, I was able to find almost the exact thickness needed in a piece of K&S brass strip. With a little patience and a little bit of hard work, I was able to cut this shim out — and a few extras. By hand, I was able to make the shim to the desired size and shape. My shim pieces turned out perfectly. K&S Precision Metals will make any small project that much easier!
