The hand pump has an internal pressure relief valve that helps protect the pump from overload. It is for applications where there is little or no load initially, but where increased force is needed when the load is applied. When no load is present, the pump operates in the first stage, which has a faster flow rate. When the pump senses a load, it switches to the second stage, which requires fewer handle strokes and slows the flow rate to produce more pressure and move the load. The glass-filled nylon reservoir, nylon-covered aluminum base, and fiberglass handle provide corrosion resistance and are lighter than steel hydraulic hand pumps. The foot pedal locks into place for secure transport. A foot-pad release valve helps control load descent. The pump has a 3/8" National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads port for connecting to a hose or gauge (sold separately).
