Otherwise they won't last, they just cannot hang on empty. I have learned to add a gel top coat as well, it makes them shine more and they last longer, stops water from going under the edges. My main issue is sizing but then again I have wide nail bed so I am always in between sizes. Some are too small most are too large. I am still happy with them. They are semi transparent so again you need nail length and it shows through.
