Basically the compressor is designed to dissipate heat out of the head of the compressor. Since heat rises, if it were mounted upside down the heat would just run back into the compressors causing it to overheat quickly. **Q: What kind of tubing do I need to run this / connect it to the tank and a staple gun?** A: Hello Tesa, We recommend using 1/4" DOT approved airline to connect the compressor to the tank.
