The smell isn't at all what I was looking for - I was expecting something that smelled sort of like vanilla. To me, it doesn't. If I had read the ingredient list more closely (I do like that they post it!), I would've seen that there wasn't a bit of vanilla, just "fragrance". The soap has a very high glycerin level, which helps for the shave glide. It does come up easily into a rich lather with a shaving brush, but it does clog the blade more than a "lighter" shave soap (like Van der Hagen). I won't be buying it again, but it might work well for someone with different expectations. If your skin is prone to clogged pores, running the ingredient list up against a list of pore-clogging ingredients could help you to decide (try using your favorite search engine with "pore clogging ingredients" or "list of comedogenic oils" as I can't put a link to lists in this review) From two of the lists that I found, the first ingredient - coconut oil - is a 4 out of 5 (fairly high) for Comedongenic Rating (causing acne), and some other ingredients also show up on the lists. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful *by L***B on Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2020* These soaps make me want to shave my legs and have turned shaving into an amazing sensory experience. I absolutely love this product. It's perfect for shaving as it has a very rich lather, but if it's not a 'shave day' it's still lovely. It smells good enough to eat (but don't!)...it has a definite sweet Vanilla fragrance, but that hasn't deterred by husband from stealing it. I'm going to have to buy more!! The best thing about this product is that its all natural and hand made. I have very sensitive skin and this product has been wonderful for me. It's a must try! Vanilla Pudding is my personal fav, but the other "flavors" are great too.
