Elegant & classic... Loving this headboard.

*by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2015*

This headboard is exactly what I wanted! It is a charcoal grey with silver studs. In the picture it looks to almost have a hint of purple, but in person it is a true dark grey - no brown or beige hints either. It was easy to assemble (took me 10 minutes by myself), came with all the tools you need to put it together, and has the padded fabric leg covers so the fabric will go all the way to the floor which is nice. You don't see any metal or wood legs. The only thing is that it does not attach to a bed frame, but it is perfectly fine against the wall. It is pretty solid and good quality.Shipping: I ordered this item on 7/22 and est delivery was 8/4-8/12. It was delivered on 7/31 which was a nice surprise. I never received an email that confirmed the item was shipped like my confirmation email said it would, but that is OK. Just don't wait around for the "item shipped" email and be aware it will probably be delivered few days earlier than est delivery.

    King of fondue pots!

*by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2007*

I lived in Switzerland, the land of fondue, and this is the sort of pot that you find there. Cast iron enameled. It is very sturdy, goes from stove top to warmer (can't do that with clay based ones), and holds a lot of fondue. This pot is worth every penny to someone who is a fondue lover. I previously had an Emile Henri clay pot, and it wasn't worth the $75 I paid for it.Great fondue recipe:half pound gruyerehalf pound emmenthaler (swiss)grate the cheese, toss with 2 tbsp cornstarchheat pan, rub a crushed clove of garlic on the bottom, remove garlicsimmer 1c (or 1.5c if you prefer) dry white wine (I use pinot grigio)slowly add cheese mixture a handfull at a time, stirring in figure 8swhen all cheese is added, add 2 tbsp of kirschserve with cubed french loaf. Drink only hot beverages or alcohol with your fondue.

first review had to be in details :P

About Myself - i am a line cook for an average local restuarant. I've been working as a prep cook/line cook for about 4 yrs with above average cutting skills (not the best but not horrible at it either). I bought a shun sora 8" chef knife about a yr ago and cut my prep time by half. Decided to get this knife about a week ago because i liked the idea behind true single bevels.About the knife - first of all, although single bevels are sharper than double bevels, it does take a bit of time to master. When cutting straight down, the knife naturally steers toward your non-knife hand because of the concaved inside of the knife. To counter this i slightly turn the knife outwards with the bevel pointed straight down instead of the knife itself being straight.Handle - the pakkawood handle is a beauty and even when cutting pork or beef, the knife does not tend to slip making it alot safer than the cheap plastic handle of my sora.Balance - the balance of the knife is about half an inch above the hilt making it dead center. With a pinch grip right at the hilt the knife becomes a blade heavy knife making it perfect for push cutters.Edge (vg10) - razor sharp OOTB but first day on the job i did start to see minor chips (i do properly take care of a knife in a commercial enviroment, more so than most that i know). After giving it a honed run on an 8000 grit stone, all chips were gone, edge has been nice and sharp for a week now, and no signs of dulling or rehoning anytime soon.Profile - the profile of the knife is what you would expect from your typical single bevel ( kiritsuke type anyway). Less sticking of food to blade makes prep work even easier and quicker than i would have thought and of course the beauty of it is uncomparable.Overall - this knife is well worth the money but im pretty sure there are alot of kiritsukes that would get the job done at half the cost. There is a bigger learning curve to it than a kiritsuke gyoutou type(double bevel kritsuke) but i love to learn and i believe that mastery of these types of knives proves that you belong in a kitchen. ( someone who loves to cook vs someone who sees it as a chore). I would recommend this to anyone in the professional field of cooking but for an average home cook who just loves to cook, a double beveled knife is more versatile and would be the better choice for a one knife that can do all type of mentality
