I want to stick it to the underside of 18m plywood as a work platform over sinks.** A: I think it would work. The foam is fairly rigid but it will deform around pressure points. If you were to cut out a layer around any high points on the sink it would be fine... it depends on whether you want to use it several times to protect sinks of different shape. **Q: Is this more stiff than 'pick & pull' foam, I am lookng for the kind you get in a gadget case that is firmer/solid, please?** A: I prefer this over pick and pull. It is more rigid and can be cut to the exact shape you want. I use a snap-off model blade. The trick is not to cut to the full depth and try to remove all layers at once. Gently peel the last layer you want to remove, starting in a corner, cutting through and separating the skin from the layer below. Take care not to cut through the skin of the layer below or you may have difficulty in getting a clean separation. **Q: Would this work inside a Guitar case** A: Yes, just mark out the shape and the carefully cut through the layers and you should be fine. Even if you need to put two sheets together they'll work fine. I would highly recommend ordering a scalpel off Amazon to do all your tool cutouts. All the tools fit snug and don’t jump out of their position. Not the most dense shadow foam available on the market so maybe not the best choice if you are really trying to cram in a lot of tools (I only noticed this when fitting my spanners in).
