The last set I purchased had the exact same grinder heads, just on smaller glass bottoms. I worry that, since these new grinders have the same heads on them, that these won't last longer than the last set. However, I read reviews of the "best" grinders out there, and these came just behind a more (much more) expensive set with metal gears instead of ceramic. They'd last longer, you might think, however, it was also mentioned that salt corrodes metal and so that's why the vast majority of grinders, mostly intended for use with salt, are made of ceramic. So why would I spend five times the price on the expensive ones? So far, I'm very pleased with this set. They're much more comfortable to use than my previous set, which had way smaller glass bases. I can really get a good grip on these. The little "dial" on the bottom, to adjust the coarseness of the grind, moves very smoothly on these. It was so difficult to turn the dials on the previous set - and mind you, these are exactly the same as the new ones - that I had to use a pair of pliers to turn them. Strange. I see this identical grinding mechanism on several of the grinders available on desertcart, so it makes sense to assume they're all sourced from the same manufacturer by different vendors. These also hold about twice the amount as my previous set - not a major hassle to refill, but nice not to have to bother with it as often. Quite elegant looking, too. The set comes with a nifty metal holder with prongs on either side that the grinders snap into place securely for transport from kitchen to dining table. They're inexpensive enough that you can easily afford to buy two sets for each end of your table. That's a nice touch if you're having several dinner guests or a large family, so you don't have to pass the salt and pepper around. The grinder parts may eventually wear out, but for the price these are nice salt and pepper grinders. We like them. If you purchase them, you will get an email from the company asking you to contact them with any questions or concerns. They will tell you how to use and take care of them, and I thought the customer contact was a nice touch. They really wanted to make sure we were happy with our purchase. **Q: Can i use it for grinding sesame seeds or chia seeds?** A: I would think Yes - although I have not tried it. They are able to make a really fine grind so I think the seeds would work well for that. I couldn't be more pleased!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not unbreakable but sturdy overall *by A***M on June 28, 2026* I ended up knocking one off the counter and it completely shattered. Only 3.5 feet. Disappointed. Lost the insides because who in their right mind wants to risk glass shards? Gave the remaining one to a family member since they had been hassling me for a grinder. Spared me the awkwardness of a 3rd grinder. Anyway, it was good while it lasted, it has adjustable grind settings, and while not always easy to rotate, was sturdy and reliable. They have a great holding capacity and a nice shape for comfortable grip. Large rotational area. I didn't really need to clean it because it's salt and pepper and ... that's it. But exterior wise, it was glass and metal and nice and sleek looking, and easy to wipe down. I will note, the first time I ordered this way back when, the stand was disfigured beyond reasonable management or use. The replacement was also slightly messed up, but much better comparatively. Now, I do not recommend this unless you have experience with welding or fire... but I turned on the stove burner and stuck the stand in the flames held by a pair of tongs, and then used other kitchen tools to adjust the stand while the metal was hot. Worked fantastic. Again, I don't recommend unless you have experience. But goes to show, it was sturdy when cool, and needed direct flame in order to adjust. It held up very well to being knocked over several times, and the part I fixed never moved.
