Review: Happy customer - This is a nice Thermometer for the money. It looks and feels like good quality. It is hot here in the south. I brought the thermometer inside as soon as it was delivered and opened it up. The temperature read 85 on the thermometer, when it was only 74 in the room. It had been sitting in the back of a hot desertcart delivery truck all day, and I assume all the components were heated up. It took around 15-20 minutes (maybe 30) to register the correct room temperature. Now it works fine, but don't expect it to behave like an instant-read thermometer. If you walk into another room that is hotter or cooler than the one you moved from, it will take a few minutes to calculate the correct temperature. I need one in several places. It comes with a built-in stand, or you can hang it. I'm glad I bought it and would recommend it.

They provide you with mounting but I found easy workaround to put it on any wall without hurting the paint or need for tools. I bought double sided clear tape.. while ANY double sided tape will do and I have no benefit of sharing this I still do because I just love this tape for little jobs when I need to stick a picture to the wall. You can move it about and no trace. IT does not go off with the paint. **Q: I didn't see calibration mentioned in the instructions and there's no calibrate button, is the humidity sensor fairly accurate?**
A: Cannot be calibrated.  I bought this and 2 cheaper adjustable AcuRite units.  In addition, I have an older ThermoPro indoor/outdoor and two Honeywell smart thermostats that are supposed to be able to control a Honeywell dehumidifier.  Six readings ranging from 38% on the indoor/outdoor for it's indoor reading; THIS ThermoPro and one of the AcuRites at 43%, the other AcuRite at 42%, and the Honeywell thermostats at 44% and 45% (although they're on different floors--the 44% was nearer my three new units).  So, six opinions from 38% to 44% (ignoring the Honeywell on the other floor), with two at 43%.

**Q: Does the backlight stay on constantly or does it shut off and u can turn it on if you need?**
A: When you press the lightbulb icon it activates the backlight and will automatically shut off in around 15 seconds giving a time to view the display, or if you press the lightbulb icon again before the 15 seconds it will shut off when you press it. There is no way to keep the backlight on or extend it beyond 15 seconds except to press the backlight icon after it shuts off, and cannot press it again to extend time before that or it will turn off.

**Q: How long do the batteries last under normal usage?**
A: I purchased this on January 26th, 2019 so Ive had it a year and 2 months and the battery gauge reads on the lower end but it still works!

**Q: Will sitting this on a window ledge above the kitchen sink result in inaccurate readings?**
A: Sitting on a window ledge above the kitchen sink will not give you accurate readings for the ROOM.
The window will affect temperature readings and if you are running hot water in the sink, the humidity readings will probably go up.

This is a nice Thermometer for the money. It looks and feels like good quality. It is hot here in the south. I brought the thermometer inside as soon as it was delivered and opened it up. The ThermoPro TP55 does exactly what I want and with excellent design. It has exceeded my expectations. I like to know the humidity but until the TP55 I did not have a hygrometer. Humidity has a lot to do with how comfortable the air may be. I think we all think about hot and humid but cool or cold and humid aren't so great either: the term "clammy" comes to mind. Likewise very low humidity in winter can indicate a humidifier is called for. The point is having a way to measure humidity can be very useful to help make my home more comfortable. Things I like about the TP55 + The screen is large and easy to read (without my glasses) + the touch controls (backlight & C/F degrees) + 24h and all time max and minimum temp/humidity readings can be displayed + A nice little "kickstand" for sitting on a table and keyhole for wall mounting + The magnets on the back that work great on my fridge (the outside!) + The backlight has just the right brightness for my home + Even comes with batteries Things I don't so much: I'm not coming up with anything. I'm really very pleased. I'm really happy I got the ThermoPro TP55. It exactly meets my needs and has been working perfectly for a couple of months. Compact but with a large enough display: it's better than I expected it to be when reading the product listing. Because I like it so much it should be obvious I'm giving it 5 stars. UPDATE 28, Apr 2018: I have really liked my TP55 thermometer/hygrometer since I got it last summer. It was very helpful in winter to let me know when to break out my humidifier. Now rolling into summer it's nice to know the indoor humidity level. I check it frequently and so far it seems pretty accurate temperature-wise. Humidity-wise too though I only have how I feel and the local weather as a basic of comparison. It is still going strong on the original batteries that came in the package.. I remain very pleased and fully satisfied.
