It doesn't seem too matter where I buy the house plants from, they often arrive with extra guests. The glass itself feels solid and well-made. The light is a good idea and makes it easier to see what I am peering at. My eyesight, even corrected isn't particularly good these days, and it is difficult to focus on small things so this magnifying glass with additional light is extremely helpful. There is bright white light, a softer white and a mixture of the two. It is easy to cycle between the options using the button on the handle. The magnifying glass takes three AAA batteries, I've put some rechargeable ones in and they have worked fine. I'd say the only thing that would improve this product is a small case to protect the glass, although I found one in the house which I'd been using for something else and which is better than nothing. I do think the magnifying glass would quite quickly get scratched if just stuffed in a drawer.
