For almost 140 years we've spent considerable time exploring natural habitats of fish, breeding fish in our own facilities, producing diets in our own factories, processing every shipment through our own facilities and researching the impact our diets have over time. These unique insights into the nutritional needs of fish give a competitive advantage no other fish food maker can duplicate and allow us to produce species specific diets that will not only maintain your aquatic pets' health, but assist you in keeping your aquarium or pond in top form. We make the health and longevity of the fish and the aquatic environment they live in our first priority. Focusing on bringing about success to the hobbyist through exacting nutrition has allowed us to develop a brand name synonymous with superior quality. Consider using Hikari, because you love your aquatic pets as much as they love you! We feel it's our duty to constantly investigate the natural ecology of fish to make the best food for them. Our exploration to Irian Jaya, Lake Malawi in Africa, Guiana highland, the Indian Ocean, the jungle of Southeast Asia and the Holy River Ayeyawady and others, offer us many secrets to fish health, coloration, breeding requirements, water conditions and quality. Hikari offers a wide variety of diets for different species of fish, each offering unique characteristics which enable it to be readily accepted by the specific fish it was developed for, which is where Species Specific originated. This attention to detail allows you to be confident your choice will be quickly devoured by even the most finicky eaters. Our first hand experience breeding and raising fish, and the scientific data we can collect during this process, give us a clear road map for future product improvements and enhancements. I can also tell you that I have a large koi pond in Hawaii and when I had a problem with my pond turning green (I was using Walmart Koi food), the pond expert who does all the top resorts said to use this fish food, as it helps keep the pond clean. He also suggested using Microbe Lift PL. Since doing this, my pond is crystal clear, and I can see my happy koi :) Hope this helps. Warm aloha, Karen Russell, karen@healthylifeadvisors.org **Q: Can I feed this to my pond goldfish?** A: Its really a specialized diet for cichlids, Id look at one of the Hikari goldfish or koi specific diets, there higher in vegi matter. They drop slower than a rock but still pretty fast. We have to make sure to feed one at a time. Drop only when she is ready. And not under the current of the filter. We have a very large, very picky oscar. She won't eat floating food but won't always dive for sinking. ## Frequently Bought Together - Hikari 2.2-Pound Sinking Cichlid Gold Pellets for Pets, Medium - Aqueon Cichlid Slow Sinking Fish Food Pellets, Medium Size, 25 Ounce - Hikari 2.2-Pound Sinking Cichlid Gold Pellets for Pets, Mini --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/4121701-hikari-sinking-cichlid-gold-medium-pellets-for-cichlids-and-larger](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/4121701-hikari-sinking-cichlid-gold-medium-pellets-for-cichlids-and-larger) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-20*
