The machine will come standard with the unit as it has a magnet within the base of the thermal carafe so that it can engage the brew. This prevents any unwanted 'starts' of brew process for the machines. The magnet syncs with a sensor below the base so that it knows it is good to brew. We do offer glass carafes as a different option but currently those are only able to be purchased directly on our site at https://ratiocoffee.com/collections/accessories/products/glass-carafe. We should have these available on Amazon soon too! At some point we will be launching a solution for this so you can use / adapt to other product vessels and have the magnet included as an extra accessory but for now this is the best route for a good & consistent experience.
