The BraceOn EZ finger splint provided relief as soon as I put it on and was extremely easy to use. I was able to continue going about my day with very little discomfort in my thumb. I wore it 24/7 for the first 5 weeks after I received it. About a week ago I started taking it off of my thumb for a few minutes at a time throughout the day until I felt like I needed to put it back on. Yesterday and today I’ve been able to leave it off most of the day with minimal pain in my thumb. My thumb is not 100% yet and I’m still careful with movements that require using it to tighten things, but it is significantly better. I plan on wearing for as long as I need to because it is just no big deal. PROS: Its very comfortable, I forget that I am wearing it most of the time. I work in healthcare and am constantly washing my hands. I do not have to worry about getting this device wet. The aluminum/blue foam device gets wet and causes wet skin breakdown when worn for long periods of time. The only complaint that I have about this device is that it rides right across the site of my injury (see photos). That often results in slight swelling and more pain. Also, I felt that the device needed adjustment to better straighten my finger. So I tried several methods to heat the plastic and bend it into a better shape. I even tried boiling it. No luck. The shape seemed to stay the same. Also, I measured my finder as instructed, and ordered a device. It was too small and I had to order a much large device. Not sure if I did the measuring correctly. How do I get these size and return the small ones?** A: I returned it without problems **Q: how do I know what size to get, I see no guidance for this.** A: There is a pdf file link in the full product description. It asks you to print out a sizing band at default printer settings. However, using a new Brother printer, it printed out 1/16 of an inch too small, and I had to bump it up to 103% to make it match the 3½" marker on the printout. **Q: Are these very rigid or semi-flexible? Could I type while wearing it?** A: They are Rigid n strong. I use one on my pinky n one on my thumb and I type all day on & off with these. I have RA and when my fingers are swollen n stuff, to bend them gives me extreme pain !! So I bought these splints to prevent my fingers from bending you can take them off, move them around. Also another note: I have bigger sizes, there’s one where it comes w/ 32 sizes on a big round keychain. When my fingers r swollen or if ur finger is Broke, you will go they several different sizes. So getting the 3 pack in ur size is perfectly fine, but you may need a few in the sizes before & after I hope this helps !!
