It's sweet but has a more earthy flavor to it than other brands. The taste does not linger and there is no significant aftertaste. The tablets are easy to chew and are not grainy. The bottle I received in November 2022 has an expiration date of March 2024. It is made in the US, which is a big plus. Five stars. Review: I was trying to transition off Pantoprazole (a Stomach Acid inhibitor, also branded Somac) which was being taken for extreme reflux. My system reaction to stopping the Somac, was extreme reflux burning and stomach upset. Taking 2 of these GDL tablets 20 minutes before meals completely stopped the upset stomach and the reflux burning.
