I agree it would be helpful if it came with some sort of information on how to use settings for blades. **Q: does it cut end grain so you make a squire.** A: The Saker Chamfer Plane will cut across end grain. However, having said that it is not easy and can take a lot of practice. The blade only needs to be dropped by a fraction of a millimetre on each pass to prevent stops, the blade needs to be very sharp and it takes a lot of practice to keep the plane level and true as on end grain there is not much contact between wood and plane sole. It takes skill to keep the plane from tipping at start and finish of the pass and to prevent tare-out at the end of the pass.
