If you do not, it will be very salty **Q: Is this product shelf-stable?** A: Needs refrigeration. You can also put it on the freezer for a later use. I freeze done of my packages for about a month. When I used a month later it was just the same taste as the one I used immediately. Hope this helps. **Q: I'm going by the product image, but I don't see the black beans. Do I have to add black beans to this mix?** A: I'm addition to the meat mix here, I use onion, garlic, black beans, and a little cilantro to garnish. To prepare, take the carne seconiht of the meat mix (it looks like dark colored steak) and soak it over night in some water to reduce the saltiness and discard the water. In a pan, fry the bacon and carne seco, and in another pan fry the remaining sausages. In a pressure cooker or instant pot, saute the onions and garlic until fragrant, them mix in all the meat, and fry a little longer. Once your kitchen smells amazing, add the beans and enough water to cover by a few inches. Close the pressure cooker and cook on high pressure for 20 minutes.
