The handle is metal and it SCREWS together. So sturdy! I'm so use to cheap plastics that snap together and lasting a month. I can see the VaBroom handle lasting for years and years! And the suction is more than adequate. The bristles of the broom get up the dust not just the big pieces. The rechargable battery is a huge plus. The debris container and the release is a genius design. Just lay over the trash can and release. No more junk flying all over. And no more bending over and trying to get all the gunk into a dust pan. I have rarely been SO impressed with a product as I am this broom. It's perfect for quick sweep ups and removal of debris. I use it often for quick cleanups without having to drag out a vacuum or a dust pan.
