Sugar cane is a wild reed thought to have originated in Bengal. Today La Perruche cane sugar is cultivated in Reunion Island, a tropical paradise of flavors and fragrances. Harvested and pressed from July to December, the sugar cane produces a sweet liquid that thickens into a syrup before the formation of the first crystals. It is this sweet gold that secured the reputation of the island, then known as Ile Bourbon, back in the 19th century. The La Perruche brand was created in the latter part of the 19th century and won several medals at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1889, the year famous for the construction of the Eiffel Tower! **Q: Does anyone know the apx. number of cubes that come in the 26.5 oz box?**
A: I have no idea.  The cubes are of different sizes.  I can tell you we do love this sugar and continue to order it year after year as it is a wonderful addition to every cup of coffee at our house.

A: That's hard ! Without counting them 1 by 1 I'd estimate maybe 60.  I use 3 each morning and the box lasts about 3 weeks - that should help.
