## Description

About this item Includes one Nest Wifi Point. Nest Wifi points are designed to expand your existing Wi-Fi network and require a Nest Wifi router (sold separately). Nest Wifi is a scalable and flexible Wi-Fi system. These Nest Wifi devices work together to blanket your whole home in fast, reliable Wi-Fi and eliminate buffering in every room – adding coverage of up to 1600 square feet per point.[1,2] 1 Wi-Fi router (required, sold separately) plugs into your internet provider’s modem to create your Wi-Fi network. Each point extends the wireless network and keeps your connection fast to devices in every room.[1] Each Nest Wifi router and point is strong enough to handle up to 100 connected devices, and fast enough to stream multiple 4K videos at a time.[3] Compatible with Google Wifi. Each Nest Wifi point is also a smart speaker with Google Assistant built in (internet connection required). You can play music, manage your Wi‑Fi network, find answers, control your connected devices, and more using your voice.[4] Intelligently works behind the scenes to make sure your Wi-Fi remains fast.[2] Walk from room to room on a video call with an uninterrupted signal. Nest Wifi automatically updates itself to get new features and help your network stay safe and sound

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can the nest "add-on access point only" be added to older google wifi networks, or do you need the nest router in order to use this add-on point?**
A: You need the Nest router to connect the new points. Once you have that as the center of the network you can add 1st gen and 2nd gen points (together if you want) to the nest router since it is backwards compatible.

I did this when upgrading my Google WiFi to Nest. Using the Google home app, you'll need to delete the current network and recreate it on the Nest router. Use the same name and password as the old network to make this easier for clients to connect. The home app is pretty straight forward.

**Q: How many points can I add to my google nest 2nd Gen mesh wifi router?**
A: Instructions say 4 for a total of 5 including the main unit.

**Q: Do the extenders have ethernet ports?**
A: Yes the primary unit has an ethernet port cat 5r/6 etc. The mesh units just plug into 110v outlet

**Q: Can this be used an an extender from a T-Mobile 5g Gateway modum?**
A: Yes - we have TMobile Internet also and had to contact their customer service to port in with the nest - but once set up it works great
