## Description

Product description

Review: Wierd little device, but works - I have to wear AirSoft contacts, which I've found to be incredibly difficult to remove compared to my old lenses. These lenses don't just slide or pop out as the old ones did, and I've either bruised my eyelids trying to get the things out or gave up completely and lost a lens in my sleep because they slip out and run away when I'm not looking. Apparently. Anyway, not being wealthy, I can't afford to keep losing contacts so I Googled and found this little tool. It looks creepy and I wasn't sure if it would work at all but, as I said, I can't afford to keep losing contacts unless I find a sugar daddy (which seemed a bit extreme). The whatsit arrived yesterday. I tried once again to remove my lenses as a normal human would, but the right lens didn't even respond to threats. With some trepidation, I removed the tiny thingamajig from the package and re-read the instructions a few times using my right eye, hoping to take some of the fight out of that lense. After a few tries, that rebel scum gave up and popped neatly out, THANK THE GOD OF INVENTORS. The trick is to not let the idea of sticking a tiny plunger into your eye and using the right amount of pressure. Tl;dr, product works as described and I am happy.
Review: Does not work. Does not pinch as required - The Opti-Wand contact lens installer/remover did not work for me. I have no trouble inserting my Dailies 1 soft contacts by Alcon manually. However, these lens have such a perfect curvature to match my cornea that it’s very difficult to break the seal necessary to get them out. The snazzy video and (some positive) desertcart comments led me to order this product. After giving them a good workout and trying to get the necessary technic down I must conclude they won't pinch as described. I use the small end of the Wand with the cut-outs as instructed. The idea is not to use the Wand as a suction cup. Rather it is intended to slightly pinch the lens so that air can get between the lens and the cornea allowing one to lift to be lifted out and away from the eye. Sounds good in theory. The problem with this is that they do not grip the lens allowing one to pinch; they simply slide across the lens. As a test I placed one contact on the tip of my index finger using it to mimic my cornea. But again, they only slide and do not pinch the lens as required. I have tried this with the lens slightly wet with storing solution and with the lens dry. Nothing works. I’ve tried the Wand with other brands of soft lens. They were ineffective here as well. Perhaps others have had more luck. But not me. Quite expensive for something like this even if it did work. I can’t recommend this product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Sometimes after rubbing my closed eye a soft contact lens folds and gets lost on the side of my eye socket. Will this help locate and remove it?**
A: It may help to push it but it works best when the lens is centered in order to remove it. When they fold over it is in a tight area of the eye cavity which might be impossible to get the end of the wand enough lens to pinch. The Optiwand pincher has an end which is slightly larger that may work better. If you cannot feel where it is you should contact your optometrist for assistance in removing it

**Q: Is it made of plastic or silicone?**
A: Silicone rubber. Soft and pliable to help pinch lenses out

**Q: Is this device hollow and does it have a suction to hold it in place for sclera insertion?**
A: Yes it is hollow. Clients can stand it up on a table and place lens into the U shaped or split end up where it will hold the lens while you fill fluids like in the main image for the OptiWand. Then you can lower down with eyes wide open to insert while holding the tube. Our OptiWand Pincher is longer and is identical to use which some prefer as well. Money back guarantee if unable to use as well

**Q: We are a manufacturer of contact lenses located in south korea. we have the interested of your product. may i ask how much is the moq and the price?**
A: On Amazon.com you can buy in 1 to 6 packs with no moq. I do not know if they offer international shipping but it's possible on the prime offerings. You would need to contact customer support for all options for product and shipping fees.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super easy to use, Can finally wear contacts again
*by B***M on April 14, 2026*

I'm notoriously bad at inserting and removing contacts but this little device actually works. I no longer have to rub my eyes raw trying to remove the lenses or losing it behind my eyelid or having it fold in half trying to get it in....the list goes on and on for how terribly wrong inserting and removing contacts have been the past 5 years. I all but gave up on contacts. But I decided to give it another shot with some spares I had and this device. It made inserting and removing extremely easy. The most important thing is to follow the directions. Moisture is important because it helps the contact adhere to you eye and allows it to loosen prior to removal. Make sure to squeeze gently at the base to pinch it, that is how the decice removes the contact, not by suction but a light grab. The insertion is pretty straightforward, the thicker end cradles the contact so you can place it square center on your eye. Much easier than using my fingers. Will definitely get good use out of this. Only thing is I wish is the color was bright like in the photos. Mine is a very pale mint green. It also doesn't say "optiwand" on the side either.
